We never really planned on getting into the race directing business. But athletes kept telling us there were no sanctioned races in the USA and urged us to consider it. So, after months of talking to parks, sanctioning bodies, lawyers, race directors, drug testing agencies, and athletes, we've decided to take the plunge. We're a big ultra triathlon family that will compete in these races all over the world; it's just what we do. And we're also a family that welcomes you, your support crews, volunteers, our international friends who love the sport, and anyone who wants to help us grow this ultra triathlon community. Our motto will always be "for athletes, by athletes." So if you're an athlete, please don't hesitate to share your ideas and help us build the sport!
A lot of people will question you. They'll say you're crazy. You'll do it anyway. That's the endure way.
When your breaking point comes, your body and mind will want to quit. You'll keep going. That's the endure way.
When you set goals, you don't play small. You go big. That's the endure way.
You believe that the status quo is for others and that limits are made to be broken. That's the endure way.
We are For Athletes, By Athletes. That's the endure way.
Every athlete has their own equipment and packing list, but we're happy to share ours with you! Just shoot us an email to get the list. You'll need the basic swim, bike, and run gear for sure. And don't forget, for our races, it's a must to have safety equipment like good lighting & reflectors for night racing.
Our first ultra race will be at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Huddleston, Virginia. We chose this state park because they have lodging available. Book Here. You can rent one of their 20 cabins or choose from 50 camping spots. If that's not your thing, there are also plenty of local hotels in the area.
Our ultra races take place on looped courses of up to 5 miles, allowing you to access your own personal aid stations every 10 to 30 minutes. This is where you'll be able to restock on water, food, make gear adjustments, and etc.. Plus, we've got aid stations stocked with food, water, spare parts, and expert staff to support you out on the course. Don't worry too much about hydration and fuel - we encourage you to come as prepared as possible but we are here to help you complete this event!
Feel free to bring your friends and family to the event. They can hang out on the beach while you swim and/or at your personal aid station on the other disciplines, which is usually a 10'x10' tent. If you'd rather not have your own support crew, we'll have experienced crew members and supporters on hand to help you out as needed. They are there for that.
